Short Biography
Riley Grossman is a Ph.D. candidate in Business Data Science at the Martin Tuchman School of Management at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He is advised by Dr. Yi Chen. Prior to NJIT, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics at the State University of New York at Geneseo.
His research interests generally focus on the application of AI to business problems, and the implications of deployed systems. Most specifically, his research focuses on applications of AI in the digital publishing industry. His dissertation explores applications of AI to better understand how businesses respond to privacy regulation and how this impacts user privacy on the Web through the automated detection of noncompliant or manipulative websites. More recently, his work focuses on investigating and quantifying how generative search systems such as ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews are impacting digital publishers, as well as the quality of information received by users. He has further been involved in the development of new AI or machine learning systems with applications to healthcare, explainable readmission prediction, and uncovering biases in human decision-making.
